KRIS BEECH FORCED TO LEAVE CANADAS NATIONAL JUNIOR TEAMS SELECTION CAMP WITH LEG INJURY

KITCHENER, ON - Forward Kris Beech, of Sicamous, BC, has been forced to leave Canadas National Junior Teams Selection Camp with leg injury, the Canadian Hockey Association announced on Sunday.

The member of the Calgary Hitmen suffered a severe thigh contusion Friday night while playing with the Hitmen. Upon his arrival in Camp, he was examined by the medical staff and it was determined that he would be unable to skate for at least seven days.

There remains 33 players in camp, vying for one of the 22 spots available for the World Junior Championship Team. Of the 33 players, there are 4 goaltenders, 11 defencemen and 18 forwards.

The National Junior Teams Selection Camp runs through December 17th, 1999 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. Practices are open to the public free of charge. There will also be exhibition games on December 15th and 16th against All-Star Teams from the Ontario University Association.
