TO TAKE ASSISTANT COACHING POSITION WITH NHL'S
LOS ANGELES KINGS

CALGARY, ALBERTA - Ray Bennett, the Canadian Hockey Association's Manager, Video, High Performance Technical, has been hired as an assistant coach by the Los Angeles Kings, the Canadian Hockey Association announced on Monday.

Bennett has been with the Canadian Hockey Association for two years, serving as an assistant coach in charge of video for Canada's silver medal-winning National Junior Team at the 1999 World Junior Hockey Championship, the gold medal-winning Canadian National Women's Team at the 1999 World Women's Hockey Championship and a fourth place finish with Canada's Men's World Championship Team at the 1999 World Hockey Championship.

The native of Innisfail, Alberta also served as an assistant coach with Canada's silver-medal winning National Women's Team at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.

"It's a tribute to the CHA that other organizations, including the National Hockey League, recognize the work and achievements of members of our staff," said Bob Nicholson, President of the Canadian Hockey Association. "We wish Ray and his family all the best in Los Angeles."

Bennett, 37, and wife Karla have two children, Kale and Kassie.
